At the beginning of the 14th century, the knights of Voděrady wore a coat of arms with golden crescent moons and a green peacock fan. Between 1531 and 1549 the goods in Voděrady were divided among the surrounding lords of Černá Hora , Lysice and Kunštát . The oldest place seal dates from 1696 and shows a running ram. In 1790 the village consisted of 58 houses and had 325 inhabitants. In 1834 Voděrady had grown to 72 houses in which 398 people lived. Until the middle of the 19th century, Voděrady remained subject to three different lords.

After the replacement of patrimonial, the three parts of Voděrady were united in 1850 to one municipality in the district administration Boskovice . When cholera broke out in 1857, seven residents died. In 1872 a new school building for a two-class school was inaugurated. In 1890 Voděrady had 516 inhabitants, in 1900 there were 566. After the discovery of a deposit of fireclay at the foot of the Hůry in 1908, two clay pits were operated west of the village. In 1909 a new three-class school building was built. Between 1919 and 1921 the road from Drnovice to Voděrady was built. In 1921 the village had 607 inhabitants. In 1925 the Alej housing estate was built . Another fireclay pit was opened in 1934 at the Kopaniny hill, southwest of the village. In the years 1939 to 1941, construction work for the Reichsautobahn Vienna-Breslau took place east of the village. On May 8, 1945, a Romanian plane was shot down in the fields on the state road while watching the retreat of the Wehrmacht.
