geography

Kunice is located in the eastern part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands on the triangle of the Halasovo Kunštátsko, Svratecká hornatina and Lysicko nature parks. The village, laid out as a round , is located at the southern foot of the Záhoří (594 m) in the basin of the Drnovický creek. The Kamínky (548 m) rises to the northeast, the Stráž or Nivy (587 m) to the south and the Hersica (672 m) to the west.

Neighboring towns are Touboř in the north, Víska in the northeast, Zbraslavec in the east, Drnovice , Záoboří and Lysice in the southeast, Lhota u Lysic in the south, Bedřichov and Brumov in the southwest, Černovice in the west and Tasovice and Hluboké u Kunštátu in the northwest.

history

The first written record comes from the year 1351, when Heralt von Kunstadt gave the village to Sudek von Veselí. In 1353 Kuno von Kunstadt and Lysice bought Kunice and Lhota back for his five sons. As a result of the Thirty Years War , the village became deserted. In 1675 only ten of the 24 houses were inhabited. Subsequently the village grew. Kunice is parish after Bedřichov , before the village belonged to the parishes Kunštát and then Drnovice. The church was supposed to be built in Kunice, but since the judge did not want to sell the property, the church was finally built in Bedřichov in 1785. In 1790 Kunice had 140 inhabitants, in 1843 there were 235.

After the abolition of patrimonial Kunice formed from 1850 together with Lhota a municipality in the district administration Boskovice . In a cholera epidemic in Kunice, 46 people died within two weeks. In 1868 Kunice and Lhota separated and each formed their own communities. In 1869 there were 266 people in the village. In 1890 the population had decreased to 233. Bedřichov was also the school location until 1899. Negotiations on the construction of a school in Kunice and the same lasted from 1872 to 1888.

In 1930 Kunice had 197 inhabitants. After the end of the Second World War , 57 residents of Kunice moved to the border areas . On June 15, 1952, the local chairman of KSČ Josef Šafránek was shot by the robber and former partisan Josef Matouš in the village . This act was made in 1953 on the occasion of a show trial in Olešnice staged by the Státní bezpečnost and KSČ , in which the farmer Josef Krejčí from Kunice was sentenced to death as the alleged instigator of the murder . The background to this was the enforcement of forced collectivization . When Okres Boskovice was dissolved, the municipality was assigned to Okres Blansko at the beginning of 1961 . In 1976 the Kunice School closed. In the same year it was incorporated into Lysice . The community has existed again since 1990.
