history

A purchase contract concluded in 1308 at Cimburk Castle is the first documentary mention of the place. Opatovice consisted of two villages at that time, the upper and the lower village.

After the patrimonial rule was replaced in 1848, Opatowitz became an independent municipality and the division was abolished.
