Žernovník (German Scherownik , also Zernownik ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located nine kilometers northwest of Blansko and belongs to the Okres Blansko .

geography

Žernovník is located at the foot of the Drahan Mountains in the Boskowitz furrow . The village lies on a knoll between the Býkovka valleys and its tributary Litkov. The Ješetiny (424 m) and Bukovice (500 m) rise to the east, the Jedle (561 m) in the southeast, the Skalky (452 ​​m) and Jedůvka (483 m) to the southwest and the Loučky (468 m) in the northwest. To the northeast of Žernovník are the embankments of the unfinished Vienna-Wroclaw Reichsautobahn . The route of the expressway R 43 / E 461 runs to the east .

Neighboring towns are Býkovice in the north, Bořitov and Černá Hora in the northeast, Jestřebí and Spešov in the east, Lhotky, Dolní Lhota, Blansko and Závist in the southeast, Malá Lhota in the south, Lubě in the southwest, Bukovice in the west and Brťov-Jeneč and Dlouhá Lhota in the Northwest.

history

The first written mention of the village was in 1351 as the possession of the Vladiken von Jeneč . In 1375 the property belonged to Ulrich von Boskowitz , who transferred the income from Žernovník to his wife. Subsequently, the owners changed frequently. One of them was Jan von Lomnice, who in 1389 sold a farm to Stach von Kokor. In the following year the wife of Vaňek Černohorský von Boskowitz was named as the owner of a share. Since then, Žernovník has been part of the Černá Hora estate . In 1549 the whole village was attached to Černá Hora. With the death of Jan Šembera Černohorský von Boskowitz, the sex died out on April 30, 1597 in the male line. Between the 15th and 17th centuries, bushmongers lived in the forests to the south-west; they had their headquarters near Brlohy and made the trade route from Brno to Bohemia, but also the connections to Lomnice and Tišnov near Žernovník unsafe. At the beginning of the 17th century, Žernovník consisted of nine properties. In 1623 the area was hit by an epidemic of bubonic plague brought in by soldiers of the war. In 1642 the village was parish to Bořitov . In the years 1831, 1832 and 1850 cholera broke out in Žernovník and the population was decimated. In 1846 204 people lived in the 20 houses in the village. Until the middle of the 19th century, Žernovník always remained submissive to Černá Hora.

After the abolition of patrimonial Žerovník formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Boskovice . In 1857 the village was re-parried to Černá Hora. The place name Žernovník has been used since the end of the 19th century . In 1900 a one-class village school was established in Žernovník. In 1902 224 people lived in the 37 houses of the village. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1937. Between 1940 and 1942 work was carried out at Žernovník to build the Vienna-Wroclaw Reichsautobahn . Since 1948 the community has belonged to Okres Blansko . Žernovník has had a coat of arms and a banner since 2001.
