Lysice is located at the eastern foot of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands in the Blanenský prolom ( Blanzer Basin ). The town is traversed by the Lysický brook and on the eastern edge of the Lysicko nature park. history

The discovery of a Neolithic drilling tool 30 cm long, 8 cm wide and 3.5 cm high proves that the area was settled at an early age. Furthermore, graves from the Bronze Age were found.

The first written mention of the place took place in 1308 in a sales deed by Bernhard von Cimburg about the mill and 13 Huben Land in Paczendorf, in which Heralt de Lizecz appeared as a witness. The neighboring Rychvald Castle can be traced back to 1371 and was built under Kuna von Kunstadt and Lissitz . The first evidence of the church in Lissitz comes from the year 1390. Until 1451 Lysice belonged to the lords of Kunstadt and Lissitz . Various other lines of the von Kunstadt family followed as owners. In 1520 Wilhelm II of Pernstein acquired the rule. His son Vojtěch von Pernstein (1490–1534) sold Lysice in 1529 to Jan Černčický von Kácov .

In 1550 the conversion of the old fortress into a water festival in the Renaissance style began. When Burkart and Bernart Černčický sold the Lysice estate to Hron Březnický from Náchod on Tulešice in 1584 , the property included the Lysice fortress with a courtyard, brewery, hop garden, tree garden, gardens, meadows, the church patronage and the village of Lysice, the villages of Voděrady , Kunčina Ves , Bedřichov , Hluboké , Touboř, Kunice , Lhotka , Štěchov , Ústup , Rozsíčka and Lačnov, the village and the fortress Žerůtky , the Prskadlo forest and the desert village Vznětín. There is evidence of a school in 1627.

Franz Alexander Heber : Lysice, 1848

The place was devastated during the Thirty Years War. Emperor Ferdinand III. Lysice was elevated to a town in 1652 and granted the privilege of holding four annual fairs. In the following year, Count Ferdinand Leopold von Náchod gave butchers, bakers, millers, tailors, weavers and shoemakers permission to found guilds. After the death of his son Ferdinand Leopold Březnický von Náchod in 1672, Lysice came to Johann Ernst Montrochier on Oberkaunitz in 1675 . After a year, he passed the goods on to Archbishop György Szelepcsényi de Pohronc. In 1685 Lysice fell to Emperor Leopold I. He immediately sold the rule to Count Franz Joseph Serényi. After the Count Serényi, Leopold von Dietrichstein followed as owner between 1739 and 1745 . His successor was Johann Georg Piatti Ritter von Drnovice . In 1750 the Perná pond was created east of the town. The town's privileges were confirmed by Joseph II in 1781 and again by Franz II in 1794 . In 1811 Antonia Dubský of Třebomyslice, née Piatti of Drnovice, inherited Lysice.

Postcard from Lysice, 1899

After the abolition of patrimonial Lysice formed from 1850 a market town in the district administration Boskovice . The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1872. In 1919 a cinema opened in Lysice. In 1945 Albrecht Dubský was expropriated from Třebomyslice. In 1948 Lysice lost the status of a Městys. After the dissolution of Okres Boskovice, the municipality came to Okres Blansko at the beginning of 1961. On October 23, 2007 Lysice was raised again to a Městys.
