history

Lažany was built in the 13th century on the old Strenitzer Steig, which formed part of the Königsstrasse from Vienna via Brno to Prague . At first there was only a single fortified farmstead with an outdoor bar for the carters on the path in the forest. Over time, more houses were built around this and parts of the forest were cleared for farming purposes. The first written mention of the village took place in 1353. The Lažánka brook formed the border between the two parts of Lažany. One was subject to the Černá Hora rulership , the other was owned by the Order of Malta to the Hrušky u Brna estate .

After the abolition of patrimonial Lažany formed from 1850 a municipality in the district authority Boskovice . Until then, Lažany was a purely agricultural village. Later, the residents increasingly earned their living in the factories of Brno . In 1948 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Blansko . The European route 461, which is used by 25,000 vehicles every day, has created a number of small service companies in Lažany in recent years.
