history

The first written mention of the place belonging to the Boskovice domain was in 1418 in connection with the Žďárná pastor Martin. It is believed that the village is much older and was formed during colonization towards the end of the 12th century. In 1505 Žďárná was mentioned as a property of Ladislav von Boskowitz . In 1538 Christoph von Boskowitz eased the labor burdens of the subjects in Ludíkov, Valchov, Velenov, Protivanov, Lipová and Ž dieárná. In 1547 the Boskowitzers sold the rule to Simon Eder von Sstiawnicz ( Šimon Eder ze Štiavnice ). In 1569 Jaroš von Zástřizl bought the goods from Veit Eder. After the lords of Zástřízl became extinct in the male line, Susanne von Zástřízl sold the Boskowitz reign in 1689 to Count Walther von Dietrichstein . The glassworks in Thiergarten was first mentioned in 1743 in connection with the master glassmaker Johann Schiller. In 1748 the Žďárná locality was raised to a parish. According to the church registers created in the same year, Žďárná had 314 inhabitants and 57 people lived in the glassmaking settlement in the Sloupský potok valley. The glassworks ceased operations as early as 1762. In 1771 Žďárná consisted of 46 houses, the mill and the manor. Four years later there were already 50 houses in the village. After serfdom was abolished, building activity began on the right bank of the Zdiarna brook in 1781. Later, Žďárná was expanded to the south-east on the Strážná. Ž árná consisted of 74 houses in 1800. After the residents of Valchov refused to pay the teacher from Žďárná, a school was set up in Valchov in 1800. In 1840 Žďárná had 743 inhabitants and consisted of 83 houses. 130 of the 147 families were working in agriculture at the time. Until the middle of the 19th century, Žďárná always remained submissive to Boskovice and was the seat of a lordly judge.

After the abolition of patrimonial Žďárna formed from 1850 a municipality in the district authority Boskovice. After the Dietrichstein family died out, the goods fell to Count Mensdorff-Pouilly in 1864 . The village has been called Žďárná since the beginning of the 20th century . In January 1961 Žďárná was assigned to the Okres Blansko. Since 1999 Žďárná has had a coat of arms and a banner.
