history

The first written mention of Skrýchov was in 1406 in connection with a Petr Kukla from Skrýchov. In 1545 the village of Čeněk vom Lomnice belonged to him, followed by Adam von Lomnice († 1575). The lower jurisdiction over the village was initially incumbent on the local judge from Stvolová, from 1634 the judge from Dolní Smržov. The oldest local seal dates from 1616. In 1674 Skrchov consisted of eight houses and in 1718 of five houses. Later the village expanded to the southeast. Borová was established there as a settlement for the threshers for the manorial Slatinka farm. In 1834 Skrchov had grown to 25 houses and had 123 inhabitants. The Catholic parish was Bradlné, later the parish was changed to Letovice. The Bohemian Brothers built a church in Vanovice in 1844 . From 1843 the railway from Brno to Böhmisch Trübau was built by the Imperial and Royal Northern State Railways . The Svitava between Stvolová and Skrchov was also regulated. The railway line separated Skrchov and Borová from each other. The railway started operating in 1849. Until the middle of the 19th century the village was subject to the Letovice domain.

After the abolition of patrimonial Skrhov formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Smržov in the district administration Boskovice . An evangelical cemetery was established in Dolní Smržov in 1868. In 1880 the municipality of Skrchov was established with the districts Slatinka and Borová. After the construction of the new school in Skřib, Skrchov's children were enrolled there in 1895, before they were taught in Bradlné. In place of the old mill, Bohumír Jeřábek founded the Teluria powder paint factory in 1910, which processed paint and ores . At that time the village had 210 inhabitants. In 1921 the number of inhabitants of Skrchov had increased to 231. In 1923 Slatinka and Borová broke up and formed their own community. At the beginning of 1961 Skrchov was assigned to the Okres Blansko , at the same time Borová and Dolní Smržov were incorporated. In 1982 Borová lost its status as a district. In 1986 Skrchov was attached to Letovice as a district. The community has existed again since 1990. Skrchov today consists of 44 houses, 31 of which are permanently used for residential purposes.
