history

The first written mention of the place took place in 1295, when the provost John of the Vyšehrad chapter bought the goods in Vlkov from the Litomyšl monastery . In the first half of the 15th century the village was attached to the Letovice rule . In 1447 the Letovič estates were halved. The Lords of Lomnitz received one half, while Eliška von Ronow and her second husband Milota von Tvorkov sold the other to Vaněk von Boskowitz . There was no separation, the Boskowitz and Lomnitzer owned half of the castle, the town, the villages and the forests. 1499 fell to the Boskowitz half of Letovice Ladislav von Boskowitz. At the beginning of the 16th century he bought half of Vlkov's share from the Lomnitz people. After the death of Ladislav Szelepcsényi de Pohronc, his property fell to his underage children. In 1711 the land law sold the Letovice rule including the associated villages to Karl Ludwig von Roggendorf . In 1790, the religious fund built the parish church of St. Exaltation of the cross in Bradlné, to which Vlkov was parish. A year later, a parish school was set up in Bradlné, to which Vlkov's children were also enrolled. Until the middle of the 19th century the village was subject to the Letovice domain.

After the abolition of patrimonial Stvolová, Skřib and Vlkov formed from 1850 districts of the municipality Rozhraní in the district administration Boskovice . In 1880 the municipality of Stvolová was established with the districts Rozhraní, Skřib, Vilémov and Vlkov. In 1897 Rozhraní and Vilémov broke up and formed their own community. To the west of the village, Emil Dvořák from Křetín operated two quarries. During the German occupation the place was named Wilkau . At the beginning of 1961 Vlkov was assigned to the Okres Blansko . In 1986 Vlkov and Stvolová became part of Letovice. The municipality of Stvolová has existed again since 1990. In 1991 there were 46 people in Vlkov. On March 1, 2001, 41 residents were counted in the village who lived in 22 houses.
