Corbio was an ancient city and fortress in Lazio in the east of the Alban Hills . It belonged temporarily to the Aequern , later to the territory of the Latins , and has been devastated several times in its history. 491 BC It is said to have been conquered by Gnaeus Marcius Coriolanus along with other cities . 457 BC The city was destroyed by the Roman consul Gaius Horatius Pulvillus .

Battle of Corbio

In 446 BC During the fourth consulate of Titus Quinctius Capitolinus Barbatus , the Volscians attacked Rome with the Aequers, as Rome was weakened by a conflict between the upper and lower classes. After the train against Rome, they marched off to Corbio with rich booty. Here it came to the battle between the consul Quinctius and the Volscern and their allied aequers.
