Žďár (German Schdiar ) is a municipality with 354 inhabitants in the Czech Republic . The place is located in the Moravian Karst , 4.5 km northeast of Rájec-Jestřebí and belongs to the Okres Blansko .
Together with the neighboring town of Petrovice to the south , Žďár lies at an altitude of about 565 m on a plateau. The Trhůvka (564 m) rises to the west of the village and the Brusná (607 m) to the north-east. In the vicinity of the village there are some sinkholes , the village stream seeps 500 east of Žďár.
history
Žďár was first mentioned in 1371 as part of the Bořitov manor . In 1540 Bohusek von Drnovice on Raitz appropriated the villages Žďár and Holešín . The chapel of St. Florian was built in 1876. In 1878 a fire broke out that destroyed 50 houses and killed 8 residents. In 1992 Žďár was connected to the gas supply.
