Neighboring towns are Žernovník in the north, Černá Hora and Jestřebí in the northeast, Spešov and Dolní Lhota in the east, Závist and Milonice in the southeast, Újezd u Černé Hory in the south, Hluboké Dvory in the southwest, Lubě in the west and Brťov-Jeneč in the northwest.
history
The village was one of the many villages founded according to the Lhot system , whose settlers were exempt from duties and services to the authorities for a certain period of time. The first written mention of the village Lhotka , which belongs to the Černá Hora estate , dates back to 1390. Later, the place was called Šibenná Lhotka (Gallows-Lhotka) to distinguish it from other places of the same name in the area . This macabre name comes from the fact that the place of execution of the Černá Hora lordship was on the Czernahora mountain above the Strenitzer Steig.
Malá Lhota was a farming village. In 1879 a one-class village school was established. After the Second World War, agriculture lost its importance as the main livelihood and the inhabitants looked for work in the factories of Brno , Blansko and Kuřim . In 1964 the school was closed. The first holiday homes were built on the outskirts between 1978 and 1979.
