history
The first written mention of the villages of Zbraslavec and Martinova Ves, which belonged to the Kunstadt domain , was made in 1374. Martinova Ves later became extinct again, and the manorial courtyard and the Víska mill were built in the corridors of the village. In the course of time the place name changed, since the 16th century the village was called Braslavec and Braslawetz , and in 1674 also Braslavice . In 1674 the village consisted of 16 houses, 6 of which were uninhabited. In 1790 226 people lived in the 34 houses of Braslavec. In 1834 the village had 248 inhabitants. Until the middle of the 19th century, Braslavec always remained subservient to Kunštát. Because of the poor soils, the residents earned their living by working in the forest and processing flax at home. Three mills and a sawmill worked in Braslavec. After the discovery of an extensive kaolin store at Hůry, pottery workshops were set up in Braslavec. Part of the raw material was delivered to the potters in Kunštát . Braslavec was always parish after Kunštát.
After the replacement of patrimonial Braslavec formed from 1850 a parish in the district administration Boskovice . During this time the road from Kunštát to Lysice was built . In 1890 the community had 332 inhabitants, in 1900 there were 322. After the floods of 1898, the dilapidated chapel of St. John of Nepomuk was torn down and a new magnificent chapel was built in the following years. In 1909 a one-class village school was established. In 1923 the name of the municipality was changed to Zbraslavec . In 1938 there were 276 people in Zbraslavec. After the end of the Second World War, eight families moved to the border areas near Moravská Třebová and Znojmo . As a result, the number of inhabitants fell to 233 by 1947. Since the beginning of 1961, the municipality has belonged to Okres Blansko . Between 1989 and 1991 Zbraslavec was incorporated into Kunštát. The community has existed again since 1992.
