Hrušky (German Birnbaum ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located four kilometers southwest of Slavkov u Brna and belongs to the Okres Vyškov .
geography
Hrušky is located in the northwestern foothills of the Steinitz Forest at the transition to the Thaya-Schwarza valley basin . The village lies below the confluence of the Rakovec on the right bank of the Litava ( Leitha ). To the west rises the Pracký Kopec ( Pratzeberg , 324 m). The railway lines from Brno to Přerov and to the Wlara Pass run north of Hrušky, the nearest train stations are Křenovice horní nádraží and Křenovice dolní nádraží.
Neighboring towns are Křenovice in the north, Slavkov u Brna in the Northeast, Vážany nad Litavou the east, Nížkovice , Kobeřice u Brna and Milešovice the southeast, Otnice in the south, Šaratice , Kavriánov and Hostěrádky-Rešov in the southwest, Zbýšov in the west and Jiříkovice and Blažovice in Northwest.
history
The village was first mentioned in documents in 1294 as the property of the Lords of Deblín.
On December 2nd, 1805, the Battle of the Three Emperors took place west of the village . After the abolition of patrimonial the place belonged from 1850 to the political district Wischau . In 1921 the village was electrified. Between 1949 and 1960 Hrušky was part of Okres Slavkov and came back to Okres Vyškov after its dissolution . There are two fish ponds on the south-eastern outskirts of Hrušky.
