The Okres Vyškov (Wischau District) is located in the east of the South Moravian Region ( Jihomoravský kraj )
geography
The area is 876 km², 55% of which are agriculturally usable. About 40% are forested. There are 79 municipalities in the region, five of which are cities. The district is located on the border of two mountain ranges, the Bohemian Massif ( Český masív ) and the Carpathian Mountains , the geological boundary of which is the Vyškovský úval ( Vyškovský úval ).
economy
Around 30% of the workforce is employed in industry and six percent in agriculture. The most important industries are wood and metal processing. The unemployment rate is 8.9% on average in the South Moravian Region.
Attractions
The district is not a tourist region, but offers visitors some attractions such as
- the Romanesque rotunda from the 11th century in Pustimerice
- the castles in Výškov , Račice , Ivanovice na Hané , Bučovice and Nesovice .
- the Baroque - Chateau Slavkov at Brno , is an exhibition where the Battle of Three Emperors is.
- Folk architecture can be found in Lysovice , Rostěnice , Kučerov , Ruprechtov and Luleč .
- Technical monuments are two Dutch windmills in Ruprechtov and Chavalkovice u Bučovic .
- Recreational areas are the water areas at Luleč , Račice-Pístovice and Ruprechtov .
