Rašovice (German Raschowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located about 25 kilometers east of Brno and belongs to the Okres Vyškov .
geography
Rašovice is located on the northern edge of the Ždánický les nature park , south of the European route 50 , which connects the cities of Slavkov u Brna and Bučovice . Neighboring towns are Heršpice and Hodějice in the west, Křižanovice in the north, Mouřínov in the east and the deserted Konůvky in the south.
history
The place was first mentioned in 1141. At that time, the Břeclav Church owned three Hufen Landes here. At the beginning of the 14th century a fortress was built, which in 1497 fell to neighboring Slavkov along with the village and the manor. Before the Thirty Years War the village consisted of 68 houses. After the war, 55 of them were abandoned. In 1790, 462 people were living here again; by 1910 the population had risen to 892. At present (2009) there are 615 inhabitants in 266 houses in Rašovice. Of the 566 hectares of community land, 421 are used for arable farming.
Attractions
- The cemetery chapel is dedicated to Saints Cyril and Methodius. It was built in 1869.
- There are three nature reserves in the cadastral area: the two nature reserves Rašovický zlom-Chobot (19.14 hectares) and Mušenice (14.30 hectares) and the Žlíbek natural monument (3.72 hectares). These are predominantly dry and sunny locations, partly on former pastures and orchards, which are home to warmth-loving plant communities.
- There is a small sports airfield near the village.
