history

The first written mention of Nebstich took place in 1426. The name of the place is derived from Neustift. The village was built around an irregularly trapezoidal meadow open to the west. In 1750, Nebstich consisted of eleven properties. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village was subject to the Wischau rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Nebštych / Nebstich with the district Březina after 1850 a municipality in the district administration Wischau. In 1873 a one-class village school was inaugurated, prior to teaching in Drahan . On July 7, 1892, a great fire broke out, which left Nebštych and Březina in ruins. In 1895, two-class instruction was started in Nebštych. In 1896 the Czech name of the municipality was changed to Novosady . In 1900 the community had 462 inhabitants. In 1912 the volunteer fire brigade was founded . The municipality has been called Nové Sady since 1925 . In 1930 there were 416 people in the community. During the German occupation in 1940, the decision was made to expand the Wischau firing range into a large military training area for the Wehrmacht . The 33 villages to be evacuated for the establishment of the Wischau military training area also included Nebstich and Birkicht in the third stage to be completed by October 30, 1943. At that time, 337 people lived in the 57 houses in Nebstich. After the end of the Second World War, the community was repopulated. Some of the displaced people returned after the end of the war and the houses were partly damaged by the exercises. In 1950 the community only had 259 inhabitants. On May 1, 1951, the Březina military training area was established, and the forests around Nové Sady were assigned to the military area. By 1961 the number of inhabitants grew to 284, after which a population decline began. In 1991 Nové Sady had 142 inhabitants. Between 1970 and 1998 the population fell from 261 to 115. This trend continued at the beginning of the 21st century. However, one prognosis assumed that the population would increase again in the future and that the community should have 140 inhabitants in 2010.
