Archaeological finds show that the area has been inhabited since the Neolithic Age . At the latest between 800 and 850, Orlovice had a magnate's seat and a church. According to ancient traditions, a Bohemian prince and follower of the Přemyslids is said to have received the Orlovice district around 1050 and the Church of St. Wenceslas was also consecrated at this time. In 1120 the goods are said to have been lent to a margrave vassal named Bavor, who is considered to be the progenitor of the Bavor von Orlowitz family. The first documented owner comes from this family, Comes Bavor von Orlow, proven since 1146 . He was followed in 1167 by his nephew Dluhomil. In 1173 Dluhomil's sons, Trojan and Vojslav Bavor von Orlow left their goods to the Order of St. John in Eiwanowitz . The order set up a commander at Orlov Castle and made it the most important in Moravia. In 1328 Bertold von Salza , between 1360 and 1362 Radslav Řemdih Eringius von Malešov and in 1392 the Grand Prior Hereš von Zvířetice, who also acted as governor of the Hospitallers in Moravia, are traceable. The sinking of the Coming Orlov after the destruction of the castle by the Hussites meant that Emperor Sigismund seized the property between 1420 and 1425. In 1425 he pledged it to Hašek von Waldstein , followed by Mikuláš von Vojslavice until 1445. The order then redeemed the pledge. After the fall of the castle, a festival was established in Malkowitz. In 1446 the Johanniter Orlowitz pledged the goods to the Brno patrician Kunigsfelder. In 1456 Hanuš Ryšan von Modřice received the pledge. The deposit was then passed on in quick succession to the last owner of the deposit between 1483 and 1489, Mikuláš von Klokočná. On January 13, 1490, the Grand Prior Johann von Schwanberg and the Strakonice Johanniterkonvent signed the rule Eiwanowitz-Orlowitz with the desert castle Orlov, the town Eiwanowitz , the villages Orlowitz, Hoštice , Medlovice and Malkovice as well as the farms Malkovice, Medlovice and Eiwanowitz in the country table dem Administrator of the Diocese of Olomouc, Johann Filipec . He left the goods to his nephew Johann von Kunowitz in 1492. After the fall of the castle, a festival was established in Malkowitz. In 1503 Heinrich Kropáč von Nevědomí acquired the rule and had a water fortress built in Eiwanowitz as the new seat of the rule. After Bohuš Kropáč died in 1536 without male heirs, an inheritance was divided. His daughter Katharina and son-in-law Prokop Podstatský z Prusinovic received half of the festivities and the town of Eiwanowitz, daughter Veronika and her husband Peter Praschma von Belkow received the Eiwanowitz suburb Franštát, daughter Anna the desert Orlov castle with the villages Orlovice and Malkovice; the other half of the festivities fell to the daughter Ludmila and her husband Beneš Praschma. In 1539, Beneš bought Katharina's share. George the Younger of Zástřizl , who had become the owner of the Orlover estates together with his wife Anna Kropáčka from Nevidomí since 1548, acquired the village of Medlovice including the mill from Peter Beneš Praschma in 1555. Peter Praschma bequeathed the goods in Malkowitz and Orlowitz in 1578 to Heinrich Pšovlcký von Mukodel . The parish in Orlowitz became extinct during the Thirty Years' War, in 1640 the village and Malkowitz were incorporated into Mährisch Pruss. In 1784 another locality was built in Orlowitz and the new church was built. Orlowitz always remained submissive to Malkowitz until the middle of the 19th century .

After the abolition of patrimonial Orlovice / Orlowitz formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Wischau . In 1859 the locality Orlovice was raised to a parish. In 1930 the community had 579 inhabitants, all of whom with one exception belonged to the Czech ethnic group. 535 of the inhabitants were Catholics and 42 belonged to the Czechoslovak Hussite Church . In 1960 there were 533 people in Orlovice. Since 2002 the community has had a coat of arms and a banner.
