history

Church of All Saints

The first written mention of the village took place in 1282 in connection with a Scoch de Vyezdlicz ( Skoch z Hvězdlic ). He was named again in 1297 together with his son Onsic ( Onšík ) in a donation prayer for the Augustinian monastery of St. Jakob in Olomouc . The Hvězdlice family was apparently a branch of the Deblín lords and also had their star coats of arms. They are probably also the founders of the market and the Nové Hvězdlice festival. The old village has been called Staré Hvězdlice over time. Heinrich von Sprank, who left his share to Jan von Konitz's widow Cäcilie in 1360, was one of the other owners. In 1374 Ješek Hvězdlička von Hvězdlice sold his share from Hvězdlice to Martin Nosek von Načešice. In 1381 Jaroš von Cimburg , who already owned Nové Hvězdlice, bought this part and in 1391 he also acquired the share from Peter von Krawarn . With that he became the sole owner of the Alt Wieslitzer estates.

In 1411 the Augustinian monastery of St. Thomas in Brno acquired the Nové Hvězdlice market and the village of Staré Hvězdlice, including the festivities, which had been deserted since the Moravian War of Fraternity, for 1,020 pounds of silver from Jaroš's brother Albrecht Tovačovský of Cimburg. The order established an administrative center in Nové Hvězdlice, to which, in addition to Staré Hvězdlice, the villages of Německé Málkovice and Kozlany and parts of the villages of Černčín and Czechs were subordinate. During the Hussite Wars , Jan von Dlouhá Ves seized the monastic rule. The Augustinians pledged the goods to Vilém von Víckov around 1530. Until the middle of the 19th century, Staré Hvězdlice always remained subservient to the Augustinian hermits who were sent to Old Brno in 1783.

After the abolition of patrimonial Staré Hvězdlice formed from 1850 a community in the district administration Wischau . Between 1950 and 1960 the municipality belonged to the Okres Bučovice and after its abolition came back to the Okres Vyškov at the beginning of 1961 . In 1964 Staré Hvězdlice was merged with Nové Hvězdlice to form the municipality of Hvězdlice. In 1991 the village had 85 inhabitants. In the 2001 census, only 59 people lived in the 55 houses in Staré Hvězdlice.
