Ulrich von Kirchbach
Ulrich von Kirchbach (born March 28, 1956 in Deggingen ) is a German lawyer and since 2002 mayor for culture , youth and social affairs and integration of Freiburg im Breisgau .
Life
The son of the civil engineer Konrad von Kirchbach graduated from high school in Esslingen am Neckar in 1975 , afterwards he studied law in Tübingen and, after completing his legal preparatory service and the second state examination, entered the administrative service . From 1999 to 2002 he was a member of the Freiburg municipal council. After working at the regional council of Freiburg and the Rastatt district office , he was elected mayor ( alderman ) by the city council of Freiburg in 2002 and confirmed in office in February 2010. In 2010 he ran for the office of Lord Mayor of Freiburg. He achieved 29.2 percent in the first ballot and was thus defeated by incumbent Dieter Salomon . He has been a member of the SPD since 1973, is second married and has two children.
