Konrad von Kirchbach

Konrad von Kirchbach (born July 6, 1924 in Tiengen , Upper Rhine; † January 12, 2020 ) was a German civil engineer.

Life

After graduating from high school, he did military service in the Navy. From 1946 to 1949 he studied civil engineering (Dipl.-Ing.) And in 1949 took up the preparatory service for the higher technical administration service in Ludwigsburg. In 1952 he graduated as a government master builder. From 1952 to 1989 he was a civil servant in the road construction administration of the state of Baden-Württemberg, from 1978 onwards as ministerial director in the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economics and the Ministry of the Interior , he was its head. He was involved in important projects and buildings in Baden-Württemberg.

For over 50 years he has been on the board of the Association of Road Construction and Transport Engineers (VSVI) in Baden-Württemberg. From 1979 to 1994 he worked both as chairman of the state association and as a presidential member of the federal association of road construction and transport engineers .

As an honorary professor, he taught at the University of Stuttgart .

One of his sons is the lawyer and Freiburg mayor Ulrich von Kirchbach .
