Jennifer Stiefel (born July 13, 1992 ) is a German national player and European Championship participant in water polo .
Life
Stiefel grew up on the Pacific coast of California in San Clemente and played there primarily on the team at the local high school. Here she made the leap into the youth national team of the German Swimming Association and received a scholarship for the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles and the Trojans team there .
Stiefel is a member of a water polo dynasty from Esslingen am Neckar : Father Jürgen was a long-time national player, World Cup top scorer in 1978 , two-time Olympic participant and European champion in 1981 . She is a cousin of the national players Steffen Dierolf and Katrin Dierolf . Sister Sandra became 2010 German champion and cup winner with Blau-Weiß Bochum .
Stiefel was at the 2008 European Youth Championship in Győr ( Hungary / 7th place), the 2009 Junior World Championship for U18 teams in Khanty-Mansiysk ( Russia / 10th place) and the 2011 U20 World Championship in Trieste ( Italy / 12th place). Place) each to the German line-up. With the senior national team, they came eighth at the European Championships in Eindhoven ( Netherlands ) in 2012 , in Belgrade ( Serbia ) in 2016 and in Barcelona ( Spain ) in 2018 .
