The Dodenau game reserve is a 10 hectare game park near Dodenau , a district of Battenberg (Eder) in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district in Hesse ( Germany ).
The reserve is mainly for home red and fallow deer , but also mouflon , sika deer and wild boar can be found here. Usually the enclosure is occupied by around 40-50 animals. The animals are so trusting that they sometimes eat out of the hand of visitors.
The enclosure includes a forest nature trail on which information boards provide information about the forest as a habitat and the local flora and fauna. There is also a playground and a barbecue area.
The enclosure is open all year round and entry is free. Guided tours are offered.
