European water polo championship 2018
The 2018 European Water Polo Championship was held from July 16 to July 28 in Barcelona ( Spain ).
In the men's category, 16 teams competed for the European title.
Men's tournament
mode
The 16 participating nations were divided into four groups of four teams each. In the group, the placements were played out among each other on the basis of which they either moved into the second round or directly into the quarter-finals. In the round of 16, the runners-up and thirds in the group cross against each other. The winner then plays in the quarter-finals against the group leader, who has a game break due to his placement. From here it goes in the knockout system to the final.
