Sports park Mladost
The 2010 European Water Polo Championship for men and women took place from August 29th to September 11th in Zagreb , Croatia . Twelve teams played in the 29th men's championships and eight teams competed for the title in the 13th women's tournament, although there was only one venue for the first time in recent European Championship history. The game was played on the Sava River at the SRC Mladost sports complex, which is also home to Croatia's water polo record champion Mladost Zagreb . A steel grandstand for a good 4700 spectators was built on the outside area, so that a real water polo arena was created in the outdoor pool area for the period of the title fights, like in a modern football stadium. The winner of the men's tournament was host Croatia and the women's title holder Russia.
