Milešovice (German Mileschowitz , formerly Milleschowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located eight kilometers south of Slavkov u Brna and belongs to the Okres Vyškov .

geography

Milešovice is located in the northern foothills of the Ždánický les on the edge of the nature park of the same name. The village extends at the northern foot of the Na Skalách hill (332 m) in the hollow of a small stream. In the northeast rises the Dřínový kopec, east of the Bory (306 m) and southeast of the Písečná (374 m). To the southeast is the medieval desert of Mezilesice and to the east in the valley of the Milešovický creek there is a cascade of five reservoirs; on the two lower and at the same time largest, the Horáček and Nový rybník, a holiday cottage settlement was created.

Neighboring towns are Hrušky and Vážany nad Litavou in the north, Nížkovice in the northeast, Kobeřice u Brna in the east, Zdravá Voda , Uhřice and Dambořice in the southeast, Lovčičky in the south, Šinkovický Dvůr and Těšany in the southwest, Otnice in the west and Šaratice and Kavri in the north.

history

The village probably originated during the Great Moravian Empire and is named after a Mileš . The first written mention of Milešovice was in 1141. Since 1210 the village Mezilesice can be traced. This village was located in a small valley at the northeastern foot of the Písečná in the Steinitz Forest and was extinct in the Middle Ages. In Milešovice there was a festival in the Na Homoli corridor . The changing owners around the 16th century included the Věžník family of Vladiken . There is evidence of a local judge since 1569. In 1605 Ulrich von Kaunitz acquired the property and added it to his Austerlitz rule . At that time the village consisted of 41 properties. The Milešovický potok was dammed several times north of the village; on the cascade of the Starý rybník, Prostřední rybník, Mlýnský rybník, Třicátník and Jezero ponds, the Zouvalka mill was located two kilometers northwest of Milešovice. During the Thirty Years War, many of the farms became deserted. Until 1633 the village was parish to Lovčičky and after the parish there was extinguished it was assigned to the parish of Otnice. The existence of a forge belonging to the local community has been handed down since 1775. In 1787 a big fire destroyed the whole village with the exception of the Meierhof. From 1786 Milešovice belonged to the newly established Lovčičky locality, which expired in 1796 after the pastor left and the village has since belonged to the Otnice parish again. In the 18th century, the princes of Liechtenstein acquired Milešovice and added the goods to the Ždánice rule . Most of the ponds were drained and the Mlýnská dolina was turned into arable land. In 1831 29 people died of cholera . Another cholera outbreak in 1848 left 18 victims.

After the abolition of patrimonial Milešovice formed from 1850 a community in the district administration Wischau . In 1866 the village was again hit by cholera, with 35 people dying. The miller Žandovský sold the Zouvalka mill to the lordship. The mill pond was then drained and the shut-down mill was finally demolished in 1878 as building material for the school. The two windmills in the Mlýnské and Podsedky corridors were also removed. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1888; the fire engine purchased in 1896 has been preserved. In 1893 the cemetery was laid out. In the 1921 census, 818 people lived in the 177 houses in Milešovice. In the 1930s several vineyards were planted around Milešovice. Between 1949 and 1960 the community belonged to the Okres Slavkov and after its abolition came back to the Okres Vyškov . The kindergarten was inaugurated in 1982. The Milešovice municipality has had a coat of arms since 1996 and a banner since 2000.
