history
Archaeological finds show an early settlement of the area since the Neolithic . The first written mention of the village took place in 1131. The owner of four hubs was St. Peter's Church in Brno . Until 1306 the Welspitzer church tenth was transferred to the parish Slapanitz , after which it flowed to the Olomouc Scholasterie. In the first half of the 14th century Welspitz belonged to the Wildenberg rule. In 1371 the Půta brothers sold J. Šacler and Jan von Wildenberg sold their share in Wildenberg Castle including Welspitz to Margrave Johann Heinrich . His son Jobst von Moravia sold the village Welspitz and the mill in 1406 to the Brno College Chapter. Subsequently, the village was attached to the Kritschen rule and remained subject to the Kritschen-Petersberg rule including Propsteigut St. Peter until the middle of the 19th century, who ran a farm in Welspitz.
After the abolition of patrimonial Velešovice / Welspitz formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Wischau . In 1891 the village school was established. Between 1949 and 1960 Velešovice was part of Okres Slavkov and came back to Okres Vyškov after its dissolution . In 1964 Velešovice was united with Holubice to form a municipality Velešovice-Holubice. This dissolved again in 1990. The village to Slavkov u Brna is parish.
