The first written mention of the village was in 1364 as the property of the brothers Aleš, Václav and Vojslav from Vážany. The Vážany Fortress probably existed earlier and was the seat of noblemen. At the beginning of the 15th century, the Königsfeld Charterhouse in Neudorf near Brno acquired the goods. A very tense relationship developed with Jan Dubčanský von Zdenín , who had acquired Habrovany around 1512 , after he initially refused the tithe to the Carthusians and finally curtailed their privileges and had their own church built. This escalated in 1528 when the pastor Bartoloměj ordered an assassination attempt against the spiritual leader of the Habrowan brothers and ended up at the stake in Olomouc . After the abolition of the Charterhouse on the Königsfeld, its goods fell to the religious fund in 1782, which raised the church of St. Philip and Jacob to a parish church again in 1786.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Malé Vážany / Wazan 1850 a municipality in the district administration Wischau . The village has been called Královopolské Vážany since 1887 . In 1961 Královopolské Vážany was united with Vítovice to form a municipality Vážany-Vítovice . This was incorporated into Rousínov at the beginning of 1986 . The villages of Habrovany and Vítovice have always belonged to the parish of Královopolské Vážany .
