The Brno – Přerov railway line is a single-track, electrified main line ("celostátní dráha") in the Czech Republic , which was originally built and operated by the Kaiser Ferdinand's Northern Railway (KFNB) as part of the Moravian-Silesian Northern Railway . It runs from Brno ( Brno ) via Holubice , Nezamyslice and Kojetín to Přerov . Between Holubice and Přerov, the line is part of the Pan-European Transport Corridor VI and TEN Corridor No. 23.

history

Operations on the line opened in 1869. In 1936 the connecting line Holubice – Blažovice to the Brno – Vlárský průsmyk line was opened. Between 1993 and 1996 the line was electrified.

From 2025, the line is to be expanded to two tracks and for a maximum speed of 230 km / h. This will make the Brno – Přerov line the first high-speed line in the Czech Republic.

On January 5, 2012 Správa železniční dopravní cesty requested the downgrading of the section Brno hl.n. – Holubice, which is not used for long-distance traffic, to the branch line ("regionální dráha").
