history
The first written mention of the village Sokolníky took place in 1350. In 1437 the Benedictine monastery Třebíč pledged Sokolnice together with Telnice to Peter von Schellenberg. In 1466 a share was passed on to a lord of Syrovátka. During the Bohemian-Hungarian War of Succession, both villages belonged to Peter von Schellenberg again, who in 1492 mortgaged them to the brothers Beneš and Dobeš von Boskowitz . In 1500 Wilhelm II of Pernstein bought the Pfandbrief and a little later also acquired the share of the Lords of Syrovátka. His grandson Vratislav von Pernstein sold the Sokolnitz domain including Telnitz, Petronat and Medlanko to Peter Sádovský von Sloupno around 1550. At that time there were festivals, two farms, a mill, a brewery and vineyards in Sokolnitz. The fortress was converted into a four-wing Renaissance castle in 1560. His son Johann Sádovský sold the property to Heinrich Pfefferkorn von Ottopach in 1588. Two years later Heinrich Burgrave von Donyn acquired the rule from the indebted Pfefferkorn estate. He sold it in 1596 to Bohuslav Bořita von Buč auf Lösch and Kobelnitz . His son Johann Melchior Bořita sold Sokolnitz including Telnitz, Medlanky, Kobelnitz and Horakow in 1625 to Elisabeth Berger. She was followed by her daughter Maria Franziska ( Priska ), who was married to Count Franz von Magni on Straßnitz . Until 1664 the dominions Lösch and Sokolnitz were united. On April 24, 1664 Franz Karl Kolowrat -Libštejnský sold the villages of Sokolnitz, Telnitz, Kobelnitz, Puntowitz , Horakow and Girzikowitz to Maria Polxena Passman von Panaß. After her death, the property fell to her husband Johann Albrecht von Lamberg. His second wife Johanna Barbara von Oppel sold the goods in the name of her son in 1693 to Franz Xaver von Dietrichstein on Boskovice . A baroque redesign of the palace took place under the Count Dietrichstein. In 1750, the Sokolnice domain included the villages of Horákov , Kobylnice , Ponětovice , Sokolnice, Telnice and a portion of Jiříkovice . On December 2, 1805, the village was in the southern part of the battlefield of the Three Emperor Battle . After the death of Franz Graf Dietrichstein- Proskau in 1814, his son of the same name inherited the allodial rule of Sokolnitz. On November 22, 1822, he bought the Blaziowitz estate from the state property administration . In 1834 there were 23 125 people in Sokolnitz. The last landlords of the allodial rule Sokolnitz with the attached estates Blasowitz and Turas were the Counts Mitrovský.
After the abolition of patrimonial Sokolnice formed with the district Kobelnice from 1850 a municipality in the district administration of Brno. In 1867 Kobelnice broke away from Sokolnice and formed its own municipality. The parish is Telnice.
