history

The first written mention of the place took place in 1237 in a document Wenceslas I about the cession of several villages to the Church of St. Peter in Brno , in which Václav von Příbram appeared as a witness. Příbram belonged to the Vysoké Popovice rule in the 14th century and was acquired by Hynko von Kukwitz in 1482, who attached it to his Rossitz rule . Subsequent owners were u. a. the lords of Zierotin , Pernstein and from 1540 the family of Lipá . After the Thirty Years' War, eight inhabited and eleven abandoned properties were listed in the Lánský rejstřík for Příbram. In 1733 the village consisted of 33 chalets. After the discovery of the coal deposit in the Rossitz-Oslawan Basin at the end of the 18th century, coal mining began in the Marienthal west of Příbram. Miners began to move in at this time. Later, the settlement of God's blessing arose in the Zastawka area .

After the abolition of patrimonial Příbram formed from 1850 a district of the Popovice municipality in the Brno district. In 1870 Příbram became independent. On September 5, 1875, the new community of God's blessing (Boží Požehnání) was formed, to which Příbram also had to cede parts of its corridors. In 1881 Moritz von Hirsch-Gerreuth bought Rossitz Castle and the associated goods. The property passed from his widow Klara to her adoptive son Moritz Arnold Deforest-Bischoffsheim, who changed his name to De Forest in 1905. In 1898 Příbram received its first road connection with the Popovice Street. In 1921 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Brno-venkov. Most of the residents worked in God's blessing and had to go to work through the forest. In 1923 the road via Brodek was therefore continued to the Hegerhaus, where it reached the road from Velká Bíteš to Zastávka . At the end of the Second World War, the Wehrmacht occupied Příbram after the Red Army had taken Brno in order to secure the route to Heinrichs, which was important for the retreat . After the advance of the Red Army on May 9, 1945, artillery battles took place in which some houses in Příbram burned down and three residents died. In 1948 the community was assigned to the Okres Rosice. After its abolition, Příbram came back to Okres Brno-venkov in 1961. Since 2001 the municipality has had the official name suffix na Moravě .
