history

Since 1626 there has been evidence of a break called Kurzweil at the site of today's village . In 1783 the court belonging to the Oslawan rule was parceled out and divided among twelve families until 1788. In place of the stately distillery, a tavern was built. However, there is soon a lack of drinking water in the village. The newly created place had a seal with a lamb as heraldic animal. At the beginning of the 19th century, the coal deposits in the Rossitz-Oslawan Basin began to be extracted. In 1820 the “Liebe Gottes” coal mine opened on the Síčka hill northwest of the village. The “Love of God” ( důl Láska Boží ) located on the cadastre of Kratochvilka had a mine field of seven hectares and 91 ares. Subsequently, Krochtochvilka grew into a mining settlement for the Zbýšov coal mines .

After the abolition of patrimonial Kratochvilka formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration of Brno. During the German War , the village was sacked by Prussian troops in 1866. In 1914 the village was electrified. In 1921 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Brno-venkov. In 1922 a new road to Zbýšov was built. Until 1927 the place was schooled in Neslovice , from 1928 the lessons began in Kratochvilka. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1928. The miners from Kratochvilka took part between October 23 and November 19, 1928 in the four-week strike of the miners of the Rossitz-Oslawan district, which brought them no improvements. In 1930 560 people lived in the 102 houses of the village, 559 of them Czechs and one German. 548 of the inhabitants were denominationally Catholics. On November 4, 1932, the miners of the Julius and Ferdinand collieries in Zbýšov went on strike to improve their living and working conditions, which the miners of Láska Boží / Liebe Gottes joined four days later. On February 22, 1933, the strike was broken off without any results. Between 1948 and 1960 Kratochvilka was part of the Okres Rosice. After its abolition, Kratochvilka came back to the Okres Brno-venkov and was incorporated into Zbýšov . The hard coal mining stopped in the second half of the 20th century. The municipality of Kratochvilka has existed again since 1990.
