To the north rises the Karlova hora (286 m), in the east the Šibeniční vrch ( Galgenberg , 296 m) and southwest the Kobyla (355 m).

Neighboring towns are Moravské Bránice and Silůvky the north, Tikovice in the Northeast, Dolní Kounice in the east, Pravlov and Trboušany the southeast, Jezeřany-Maršovice in the south, stavení, Rakšice and Durdice in the southwest, Rokytná and Budkovice the west and Němčice , Alexovice and Ivančice in Northwest.

history

According to a legend, after the Battle of Loděnice , men and their families who had become unfit for further military service established two settlements - on the Moravian side of the Moravské Bránice river and on the Austrian side of Německé Bránice - which became subject to Kounice Castle.

The village was first mentioned in 1276 when the Premonstratensian monastery Rosa Coeli Bránice left its patroness Mačka, the wife of Wilhelm von Dürnholz . At that time the village consisted of 44 properties. When she died, in 1306 the Želiv Bránice monastery, including the fortress, manorial courtyard, chapel and mill, as well as forests and pastures , were appropriated . In 1594 the Strahov Monastery bought Německé Bránice. The oldest local seal from 1658 bears the inscription Peczet Niemeczky Branicz and two crossed vine knives and a ploughshare branch. After the abolition of the monastery, the property fell to the religious fund in 1782. During this time, a one-class village school and a bell tower were built. In 1790 344 people lived in the 70 houses in the village. In 1798, Father Oktavian Prudký, the last clergyman who worked in Německé Bránice, died. In 1808 Joseph von Dietrichstein bought the estate for 46,000 guilders. The single-storey castle behind the old cemetery had been uninhabited since 1832 and fell into disrepair. Joseph von Dietrichstein left four daughters in 1858, but no male offspring. The property passed to the Counts of Herberstein through his eldest daughter Theresia .

After the abolition of patrimonial Německé Bránice / Deutsch Branitz formed from 1850 a community in the district administration of Brno. In 1870 the first completely iron-built viaduct in Austria-Hungary was built northwest of the village. In 1895 Theresia von Dietrichstein's son Johann Joseph von Herberstein inherited the estate. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1896. In 1921 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Brno-venkov. In 1947 the village was renamed Nové Bránice . Between 1948 and 1960 Nové Bránice belonged to the Okres Rosice. After its abolition, Nové Bránice came back to Okres Brno-venkov. The old Ivančice viaduct was replaced in 1978 by a new parallel building and most of it was demolished. The municipality of Nové Bránice has had a coat of arms and a banner since 1997.
