Zhoř (German Shorsch , formerly Zhorz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located nine kilometers northeast of Tišnov and belongs to the Okres Brno-venkov .
geography
Zhoř is located in the Sýkořská pahorkatina, a subunit of the Nedvědická vrchovina in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands on the southern border of the Lysicko Nature Park. The village is located on the left bank of the Lubě brook, which rises one and a half kilometers to the northwest. The area of the Svratecká Hornatina Nature Park extends to the west of Zhoř. To the east lies the valley of the Křížovský creek with a reservoir. In the north rises the Kraví hlava (566 m), northeast of the Na Vrších (506 m) and southwest of the Velká hora (558 m).
Neighboring towns are Kozárov and Kunčina Ves in the north, Lačnov and Dlouhá Lhota in the northeast, Brťov-Jeneč in the east, Bukovice in the southeast, Rohozec and Jamné in the south, Šerkovice and Lomnice in the southwest, Rašov in the west and Synalov and Strhaře in the northwest.
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1348.
After the abolition of patrimonial Zhoř formed from 1850 a district of the municipality Rašov - Zhoř in the Brno district and judicial district Tischnowitz . In 1880 Zhoř had 117 inhabitants, at the end of 1890 there were 109. Since 1896, Zhoř belonged to the newly formed district of Tischnowitz. In 1900 Zhoř had 110 inhabitants, all of them Catholic, and consisted of 19 houses. In 1911 113 people lived in the village. In 1920 Zhoř formed its own municipality. After the dissolution of Okres Tišnov, Zhoř came to Okres Blansko at the beginning of 1961 . 1976 Zhoř was forcibly incorporated into Rohozec together with Hluboké Dvory , Unín and Bukovice . In 1990 the community came into being again. Since the beginning of 2007 Zhoř belongs to the Okres Brno-venkov .

- Chapel of the Virgin Mary of Lourdes, the building located at the upper end of the village under linden trees was built in 1900 by František Konečný from Zhoř
