geography

Olší is located at the transition from Bobravská vrchovina to the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands . The Horka (541 m) rises to the south-east and the Kraví hora (611 m) to the north-west.

Neighboring towns are Bor in the north, Sejřek in the northeast, Rakové in the east, Klokočí in the southeast, Kopaniny in the south, Drahonín in the southwest, Moravecké Pavlovice in the west and Střítež , Jabloňov and Věžná in the northwest.

history

The oldest mention dates back to 1242, when Bohuslav von Buková donated his court in Olsze with five hubs of land to the temple lords in Jamolice in thanks for his rescue during the Mongol storm of 1241. The parish church of St. George was also mentioned indirectly. Stephan von Medlov bought the five hubs from the Templars in 1243 and left them to the nunnery he founded in Doubravník . The village of Olší was founded on February 12, 1285 by Demetrius von Buková on the place of an alder bush. He left the church patronage to the Doubravník monastery. The districts Klokočí and Rakové, which have been part of the Doubravník Sprengels since 1235, are older. In the middle of the 14th century, Olší was attached to the Meziříčí rule . Later the village became subject to the Porta Coeli monastery . There is evidence of a fortress and a manorial court in Olší since 1482, the latter was parceled out in 1786.

After the abolition of patrimonial Olší formed from 1850 with the district Rakoví a municipality in the Brno district and judicial district Tischnowitz . Since 1896 the community belonged to the newly formed district of Tischnowitz. After the dissolution of the Okres Tišnov, the municipality came to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou at the beginning of 1961 , at the same time Klokočí (with Rakové) and Litava were incorporated.

Between 1959 and 1989, Uranerz was mined for the Soviet Union near Olší . At the time, local workers registered for the risky uranium mining, as the work was well paid and a pension claim was possible after ten years of service in the underground uranium mine.

Since the beginning of 2005 the parish came to Okres Brno-venkov .

Community structure

The municipality of Olší consists of the districts Klokočí ( Klokotsch ), Litava ( Littawa ), Olší ( Olschi ) and Rakové ( Rakowy ).
