Mariae" ( Marienthal ) in Oslavany . In 1307 the nunnery sold the village to the Sedlec monastery . After further changes of ownership, Babice was finally attached to the Rossitz estate . Subsequently the village belonged to u. a. Johann the Elder of Zerotein, his son Karl the Elder of Zerotein and from 1628 Albrecht von Waldstein . At the beginning of the 17th century the village consisted of 15 properties. After the end of the Thirty Years' War five of them lay desolate. Bituminous coal has been mined at Babice since 1840. First of all, shafts with a reel conveyor were created, which reached a depth of between 25 and 45 m. For a deep water solution, an hereditary tunnel was driven by God's blessing into the Skříňekwald near Babice and a system of seven further tunnels was created. In 1840 236 people lived in the 32 houses of Babice. Until the middle of the 19th century, Babice always remained subservient to Rossitz.

After the abolition of patrimonial Babice formed a parish in the Brno District Commission from 1850. In 1856, to the north-west of the village, the Ferdinandschacht began to be deepened, which was equipped with a hoisting machine. A village school was established in 1880, previously teaching was held in Rossitz. In 1890 the village had grown to 81 houses and had 748 inhabitants. Ten years later there were 788 residents and 99 houses. In 1921 the municipality became part of the Brno-venkov Okres. Since 1948 Babice belonged to the Okres Rosice. After the Okres Rosice was abolished, Babice came back to Okres Brno-venkov in 1961 and received the official name affix u Rosic to distinguish it from Babice nad Svitavou . Between 1980 and 1990 the village was incorporated into Zbýšov . In 1992 the Důl Ferdinand colliery was kept.
