The Žuráň (286 m) rises to the northwest. To the south are the ponds Ponětovický rybník (on the Roketnice) and Grunty (on the Jiříkovský potok).

history

Jiříkovice was first mentioned in writing in 1264, when Bishop Bruno von Schauenburg enfeoffed Conradus de Hucsaria with part of the village for his assistance during military campaigns. There is evidence of a fortress, farm and mill in Jiříkovice since 1406. At the beginning of the 17th century, the place was divided into three. The village of Jiříkovice was partly subject to the Jiříkovice estate, the St. Anna monastery in Brno and the Sokolnice manor . All three parts had different local seals of their own. The oldest is the Peczet Girzi from 1616 , which was used by the monastic portion. The seal of the Sokolnica share from Girzikowitz dates from 1687. During the siege of Brno by the Swedish general Torstensson , the fortress was extinguished. After the dissolution of the St. Anna monastery in the course of the Josephine reforms of 1782, the monastic portion belonged to the Blažovice rule . On December 2, 1805, Jiříkovice was in the northeastern part of the battlefield of the Battle of the Three Emperors . A military hospital was set up in the manor.

After the abolition of patrimonial, the three shares were combined into one municipality Jiříkovice, which belonged to the district administration Brno . Between 1921 and 1950 the village was assigned to the Okres Brno-venkov. Then Jiříkovice was part of the Okres Brno-okolí until 1960 and after its dissolution came back to the Okres Brno-venkov at the beginning of 1961. Between 1986 and 1990 Jiříkovice was incorporated into Šlapanice . Since 2001 the community has had a coat of arms and a banner. Since the beginning of 2010, Jiříkovice has been one of the 32 South Moravian towns and municipalities that have signed a partnership agreement with HC Kometa Brno .
