Kaly (German Kally , formerly Gally ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers northwest of Tišnov and belongs to the Okres Brno-venkov .
geography
Kaly is located on the edge of the Boskovice furrow on a ridge between the Svratka and Loučka valleys . The Babylon (505 m) rises to the northeast, the Křivoš (464 m) to the southeast, and the Jilmový kopec (486 m) and the Horka (503 m) to the northwest.
Neighboring towns are Borač and vrby in the north, Veseli, Lomnice and Brusna in the Northeast, Nové Štěpánovice the east, Zahrada in the southeast, Dolní Loučky and Horní Loučky in the south, Újezd u Tišnova and Řikonín in the southwest, Vrbka and Boudy in the west and Skryje , Jilmoví and Husle in the northwest.
history
The first written mention of the village took place in 1386 in connection with a Lord de Kalnov . In the following the place was referred to as Kally , Gally and Kalle .
After the abolition of patrimonial Kaly formed a municipality in the Brno district and judicial district of Tischnowitz from 1850 . Since 1896 the community belonged to the newly formed district of Tischnowitz. After the dissolution of the Okres Tišnov, the municipality came to the Okres Žďár nad Sázavou at the beginning of 1961 . At the same time Zahrada was incorporated. Since the beginning of 2005 the municipality belongs to the Okres Brno-venkov .

The municipality of Kaly consists of the districts Kaly ( Kally ) and Zahrada ( Sachrada ).
