Hanneliese Kreißl-Wurth

Hanneliese Kreißl-Wurth (* 1948 in Mondsee ) is an Austrian lyricist, composer and producer specializing in folk music and German hits.

Life

Johanna Luise Elisabeth Julia Wurth was born as the daughter of a big band leader and a singer during a tour in Mondsee. She grew up in Braunau am Inn , completed four classes of high school and the commercial academy, where she graduated with distinction . After eight years of piano lessons, she studied harmony at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz . She did not finish studying plastics technology at the Vienna University of Technology due to pregnancy.

For years, Kreißl-Wurth was the managing director of her parents' swimming pool and sauna business. She has been in the music business since 1986. Her first track on record was the song In Linz begins , which she wrote for the Linzer Buam (director Edi Matzer ). In 2005 she published the novel Greek Salad , an autobiographical story of a breakdown vacation on the island of Rhodes .

From 2014 to 2018 Kreißl-Wurth was a member of the ORF public council for the Stronach team .

Hanneliese Kreißl-Wurth is the mother of four children, including Johannes Kreißl, with whom she also works musically.

Between 1986 and 2010 she took part in the Grand Prix of Folk Music with a total of 17 different compositions . This makes her - along with her male colleagues Carlo Brunner and Bernd Augener - the only female composer who was represented as a composer for the entire duration of the competition, which took place annually and was discontinued in 2010.

The song I lod o do , interpreted by Joesi Prokopetz, was used in a campaign by the Austrian Chamber of Commerce in 2006 .
