Klostertaler , until 1996 the young Klostertaler , was an Austrian music group of folk music . On August 14, 2010 the band broke up.

Career

The first appearance of the "Junge Klostertaler" in Germany took place in 1976 in Salem -Mimmenhausen, where they also gave their last open air in Germany in 2010 at the Schloßseefest .

The band's first recordings appeared in the 1980s. In 1993 the group took part in the Grand Prix of Folk Music and achieved 1st place for Austria with An a Wunder lifted i believe . That was the breakthrough on the popular hit market. In 1995 they took part for the second time with the title Christmas in July , but were eliminated in the preliminary round. On 30 August 2008, the Klostertaler took the title home is where the mountains are again at the Grand Prix of folk music in part and in turn occupied the first place. You are the only group that has achieved this.

In 2001 the singer of the group Markus Wolfahrt received the folk music crown together with Gottfried Würcher ( Nockalm Quintet ) and Norbert Rier ( Kastelruther Spatzen ) . The big 3 of folk music received this award for the most spectacular media event of 2000. The three music groups have now also released seven albums and three DVDs together.

Singer and band leader Markus Wolfahrt

After their breakup, Markus Wolfahrt started a solo career and released his first album Mein Weg . Wolfgang Maier and Christian Torchiani founded the Hilander Duo in 2007 , which has already brought three recordings onto the market. After the dissolution, Gerhard Tschann published two of a total of five albums under the name Geri der Ex-Klostertaler . In the meantime he has deleted the "Ex" from his name and is now called "Geri der Klostertaler".

Awards and honors

The Klostertaler received five gold records . Furthermore, they were winners of the ARD hit parade Die goldene Eins and annual winners of the ARD hit parade 1996. In the same year they received the golden tuning fork . They were nominated twice for an Amadeus Austrian Music Award , which they received on September 16, 2010, after the end of their career.

occupation

The group was founded in 1976 by Markus Wolfahrt , his brother Thomas Berthold, Ernst Berthold, Bernhard Fritz and Hartwig Amann in Klösterle am Arlberg as "The Young Klostertaler". A little later, Wolfgang Maier replaced Bernhard Fritz, Manfred Horvath Ernst Berthold and Gerhard Gabriel Hartwig Amann. In 1993 Uwe Altenried joined the group as the sixth member, in 1994 Gerhard Tschann replaced Manfred Horvath and in 1997 Dietmar Konzett replaced Thomas Berthold. Markus Fend joined the band as the seventh man. A year later, Gerhard Gabriel left the band. Dietmar Konzett left the group at short notice in 2005 and was replaced by Uwe Altenried's brother André, who only stayed one year. Afterwards Dietmar Konzett worked as a drummer again. Uwe Altenried, who served as musical director and creative mind for 13 years, also left the group in 2006 and Christian Torchiani came as a replacement, who previously worked with the band "Heartmaster". After two solo albums, Gerhard Tschann decided to leave the band to start a solo career. Since other band members wanted to withdraw from the public, it was decided to split up the group two years later.
