The titles of the South Tyrolean preliminary decision 2008
In the South Tyrolean preliminary decision in 2008, 50,057 votes were counted by telephone and SMS. The preliminary decision was moderated by Angelina and Rudy Giovannini and broadcast live on RAI's Bolzano station . Initially, the first four titles mentioned in the following table were qualified for the final. According to the online edition of the Dolomites (stol.it), it was announced on June 3rd that the winning title in the South Tyrolean preliminary decision was disqualified: The working group for the promotion of musical entertainment culture in Austria and Germany, ZDF, ORF and Swiss television have the Disqualification promoted because the moderator of the South Tyrolean preliminary decision, Rudy Giovannini, was also the composer of the winning title (under the pseudonym Fabio Omero). The conditions of participation stipulate that the composer should not be a member of the jury or the working group, nor should he be a permanent employee or freelancer of the broadcast station. ARGE Südtirol has determined that the moderator is neither a permanent employee nor a freelance [...] employee of the RAI broadcaster Bolzano . The coordinator of the RAI broadcasters Bolzano commented with regret. The Tagesschau of the broadcaster Bolzano announced that instead of the first-placed title, the fifth-placed title will take part in the final.

A few comments are necessary to this result:
- The TED result showed that the first two places were equal in points.
- According to the regulations, in such a case it is intended to determine which of the two groups has the better ratings. That was also the same.
- In this case, the regulations provide for the result of a so-called backup jury to be used.
- This jury had the Klostertaler in front, so the Klostertaler became winners.
As the organizing institution, Swiss television adhered to the regulations that were made known to all participants before the event.
