Grand Prix of Folk Music 2005
The 20th Grand Prix of Folk Music took place on September 10, 2005 in Zurich ( Switzerland ). As in previous years, the participating countries were Germany , Austria , Switzerland and South Tyrol . In each country a public preliminary decision was made on television. Four titles each were determined for the final. The Swiss preliminary decision took place on April 16 in Zurich, the German on May 26 in Munich, the South Tyrolean on June 3 in Merano and the Austrian on June 18 in Vienna . The events, for which a CD was released with all participants, were broadcast live.
The final was broadcast by SRG as part of a Eurovision broadcast from Zurich and taken over by ZDF , ORF and RAI Bozen. The moderators were Monika Fasnacht and Sascha Ruefer . The starting order of the titles and countries had been drawn beforehand. After the titles were presented, viewers from the participating countries were able to choose their favorite via TED .
At the end of the evaluation, Psayrer and Barbara were the winners of the Grand Prix of Folk Music 2005. Your title mountains in the fire had Jonny Gurschler and Klaus Gurschler composed and Adele Finch Niederstätter and Klaus Gurschler texted. After Oswald Sattler and Jantje Smit (2000) and the Ladins (2004), this was the third time that the group won the Grand Prix in South Tyrol.
However, the victory was not undisputed: Due to alleged rule violations, the Psayrians were disqualified and Sarah-Jane was chosen as the winner. Against this, however, the Psayrians sued in court and were awarded the court's victory.
