Grand Prix of Folk Music 1992

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The seventh Grand Prix of Folk Music took place on June 27, 1992 in Zurich ( Switzerland ). As in previous years , the participating countries were Germany , Austria and Switzerland. As has been the case since 1989 , a public preliminary decision was held on television in each country earlier this year. Five titles were determined for the final. The Swiss preliminary decision took place on April 18th in Interlaken , the Austrian on April 25th in Lienz (Tyrol) and the German on May 16th in Duisburg . The events, for which a CD was released with all participants, were broadcast live.

The final was broadcast by SRG as part of a Eurovision broadcast from Zurich and taken over by ZDF and ORF . The moderators were again Carolin Reiber (Germany), Karl Moik (Austria) and Sepp Trütsch (Switzerland), who already led through the respective preliminary decisions in their country. The starting order of the titles and countries had been drawn beforehand. After the title was presented, several juries from the participating countries determined their favorite, although the titles from their own country were not allowed to be rated.

At the end of the evaluation, Stefanie Hertel was the winner of the 1992 Grand Prix of Folk Music. Her title Over each Bacherl goes a Brückerl was composed by Jean Frankfurter and written by Irma Holder . After Stefanie Hertel was only able to book a fifth place at the Grand Prix of Folk Music last year, she has now won the Grand Prix in Germany for the third time after the Original Naabtal Duo (1988) and the Kastelruther Spatzen (1990).

Rostock was chosen as the venue for the next Grand Prix of Folk Music in 1993 , regardless of the country of the winner .
