Hansl Krönauer (born April 23, 1932 in Benediktbeuern ; † March 21, 2011 in Bad Tölz ) was a German composer and singer of popular music .

Career

As a singer, Hans Krönauer was one of the figureheads of the popular music scene in Bavaria since the 1950s . In the 1960s and 70s he was very successful with Josef Augustin and the Original Danube Swabian brass music. After a television broadcast on Saarland Radio about the orchestra's trip to America and the idea of longing for home , Hansl Krönauer became known throughout Germany. He also made a name for himself as a guitarist and zither player . Later he also composed numerous popular titles. Most recently he moved mainly in the area of ​​popular hits.

In his private life, Krönauer worked as a restaurateur in his birthplace Benediktbeuern . Most recently he lived in Kochel am See . On the evening of March 21, 2011, he died of pneumonia in a Bad Tölz clinic. He was married and has a daughter as well.
