Grand Prix of Folk Music 2009

The 24th Grand Prix of Folk Music took place on August 29, 2009 in the Bavaria Film Studios in Munich ( Germany ). As in previous years, the participating countries were Germany, Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol. In each country a public preliminary decision was carried out on television, with four titles being selected for the final.

The Swiss preliminary decision took place on April 25th in Zurich, the German on May 21st in Munich (Bavariastudios, moderation: Marianne and Michael ), the South Tyrolean on May 8th in Algund near Meran and the Austrian on May 30th in Vienna. The events, for each of which an album was released with all participants, were broadcast live on television in the participating country.

The final was broadcast from Munich on August 29, 2009 by ZDF as part of a Eurovision program and taken over by ORF , Swiss TV (SF) and RAI Bozen . The program was again moderated by Marianne and Michael. An album with the contributions of all the finalists will be published for the final event.
