The Isartaler Hexen were a Bavarian music group that existed from 1999 to 2018.

The band

The Isartaler Hexen were an all women band that formed around the band leader Ulla Vater from Mintraching / Rosenhof .

It consisted of eight musicians:

  • Tina Kölbl - keyboards, accordion, acoustic guitar, lead vocals
  • Birgit Schneeberger - saxophone, clarinet, vocals
  • Mikki Weber - electric bass, vocals, keyboard
  • Sandra Dauenhauer - lead vocals, electric guitar, acoustic guitar
  • Alex Spiegel - trombone, baritone, keyboard
  • Susanne "Susal" Franz - moderation, lead vocals, keyboard, Styrian, saxophone
  • Ulla Vater - band leader, trumpet, electric bass, vocals
  • Mary Langbauer - drums, percussion

history

In 1999 the businessman Erwin Müller and the professional musician Ulla Vater merged and founded the Isartaler Hexen . The band was complete in November 1999 and rehearsals began. In 2000 they had 16 live performances. In 2001 there were already 36 appearances and in 2002 already 90. In the same year the witches made their TV debut in Karl Moik's Musikantenstadl . Her first CD Men are also just a hit .

2003 and 2004 were even more successful as the tour schedule now included over 100 appearances. The CDs Echte Hexen und Hexen live were released. The highlight of 2005 was the participation in the preliminary round for the Grand Prix of Folk Music on ZDF with the title Mir lassn uns net unterkriag'n . The fourth CD was released with this title under the same name.

After a few changes in the years 2006 to 2008, and the CD Voll der Wahnsinn , the witches started the "Brave Girls" tour in 2009. This year, too, the witches had the luck at the Grand Prix of Folk Music with the title Brave Girls Come to the Heaven to be able to participate. The CD Brave Girls Go To Heaven has been released. In 2009 a remix of the hit "Ruck-Zuck" was released as a Mallorca version.

In 2010 the witches celebrated their 10th anniversary, which was celebrated with a witch festival at the end of October. The CD Thank you has been released. Vera Herten left the band at the end of the year to continue her musical career in America.

Mary Langbauer has been on drums since January 2011. In the same year the witches released the single 2011 for the soccer world championship of women in Germany - We bring the cup . At the end of 2012 Adelinde Brendel and Steffi Fischer left the band. The witches started the year 2013 with the new CD ... worth a sin and with the new line-ups Tina Kölbl and Alex Spiegel.

In 2015 the witches celebrated their 15th anniversary with a witch festival in November. For the anniversary the CD Hexenfeier (n) was released, on which a self-composed track by guitarist Sandra Dauenhauer can be heard. Conny Stögbauer left the band. She was followed by Mikki Weber as bassist.

At the beginning of 2016, the Isartaler witches announced their dissolution at the end of the 2018 season. In 2018 the witches went on a farewell tour. The witches had their last TV appearance at Always again on Sundays with a closing song. The farewell concert was celebrated on November 10th in Kulmbach.
