Günther Behrle

Günther Behrle (born November 8, 1945 in Regensburg ) is a German composer and lyricist of hits and folk songs . For several years he has also been known as the singer of his songs.

Life

Günther Behrle was initially a composer and lyricist in the 1970s . He wrote numerous hits, including for Peter Alexander ( Somewhere a light is on for everyone , And sometimes you will cry a few tears ), Bata Illic ( Black Madonna , I want to be the button on your blouse ), Chris Roberts ( When are we us again in arms, Barbara ) and Mireille Mathieu ( Santa Maria ). In the 1980s he wrote more popular songs and landed a million-dollar hit with Patrona Bavariae . The song, sung by the Original Naabtal Duo , won the Grand Prix of Folk Music in 1988 , triggering a boom in popular broadcasts on television.

In 1993 he had another great success at the song as beautiful as the north in 1993 with the song Also sailors have homesickness , which, sung by Margot Eskens , took first place.

At the Grand Prix of Folk Music in 1996 , Behrle himself appeared as a singer with his song Mother God von Altötting , but only achieved 14th place. In the same competition in 2000 he did not qualify for the final with Oh Maria, Heil der Kranken . Since then, Günther Behrle has been working more as an author for other performers. In the 1970s he worked as a teacher.
