The Zellberg Buam are a music group from Tyrol specializing in folk music . They named themselves after their hometown Zellberg .
Members
Gerhard Spitaler , born on May 2, 1966 , learned to play the violin with the help of his grandfather Jörg (* 1904 , † 1985 ) in 1978 at the age of 12 due to a skiing accident after he could not get out of bed for a few months . Today he is the band leader of the Zellberg Buam. In addition to the band, he also works on his parents' farm.
Werner Spitaler , born on August 19, 1967 , is the youngest of the three brothers and, in addition to his musical activities, is responsible for the composition of the songs and the sound engineering within the band. He is a trained retail salesman.
Herbert Spitaler , born on February 7, 1965 , is the eldest of the three brothers. His main job was a machinist for the Zellberg Buam.
history
Due to their brother Gerhard's quickly learned violin skills, Werner and Herbert Spitaler were encouraged to improve their musical skills considerably. In 1981 they appeared for the first time as "Zellberg Buam and Grandfather Jörg" in various local restaurants. After they met Peter Steinlechner from the Zillertaler Schürzenjäger in 1985 and recorded the Zillertal Wedding March with his band , in the same year they finally recorded their first CD entitled "Die Zellberg Buam geig'n auf". From 1992 with “I am a violin musician” until 1998 a new CD was released every year, with which the “Zellis” also made their breakthrough in the folk music scene. Her most successful titles of that time include "Made in Tirol" (1996), "Tirolerzeit" (1997) and "Urig und Echt" (1998). In 1992 and 1993 respectively, Werner and Herbert Spitaler gave up their professions in order to devote themselves fully to music. After the Zellberg Buam appeared at the Musikantenstadel in 1985 , the next appearance took place in the Stadl in the USA in Orlando (Florida) and finally in 1999 in China . In May 2011 her album “30 Years of Zellberg Buam” was released.
