Life

Andy (real name: Andreas Hocewar ; born August 4, 1971 in Lörrach ) and his brother Bernd (real name: Bernd Hocewar ; born July 4, 1967 in Lörrach) grew up in Kandern . The two of them were active in the children's choir, in the minstrel march and in the music club from an early age. They received lessons in singing and voice training and played the clarinet and saxophone . Bernd learned the organ from 1974 and Andy learned the drums from 1976 . In 1977, at the age of six and ten, they both sang their first single, Mami, you stay at home . From 1981 both were on tour regularly in southwest Germany and in neighboring countries.

In 1990 the duo competed at the Grand Prix of Folk Music in 1990 and achieved 7th place with the song Die Süße aus dem Sauerland . Several appearances on various popular television programs followed. At the Grand Prix of Folk Music in 1992 they tried Heaven available, looking for angels , but did not get beyond the German preliminary decision.

Since 1996 Andy has worked for the private television broadcaster B.TV (later BTV4U) in various technical functions. (First in broadcasting, from February 2003 as production manager and from January 2004 as program director.) He also moderated the large TV show Musikparadies there , in which mostly regionally known artists appeared. The program, which focuses on folk music and hits, was produced once a month with a live audience and then broadcast as weekly episodes. After B.TV's bankruptcy and the change of name to BTV4U, the program Musikparadies was discontinued and instead the program Schlagergruss was produced with Andy . In the program, which was broadcast live every Sunday at 12 noon, viewers could express greetings via a chargeable telephone number and premium SMS , as well as take part in music votes and a competition. Numerous excerpts from earlier Musikparadies broadcasts were also repeated within the program .

After the end of the station B.TV/BTV4U, the Hocewar family founded their own production company under the name MP-TV. Since then, this company has produced the programs Andy's Musikparadies and Deutsche Schlager Hitparade . Both programs are moderated by Andy Hocewar and broadcast on various regional television channels ( BW Family.tv , L-TV ) and on the Internet at Volksmusik.TV.

Trivia

At BTV4U there was the award-winning morning show BTV4U Morgenmuffel . This show was not moderated by Andy and had nothing to do with folk music and hits. The show was known for numerous trash elements and, as a running gag, had the peculiarity that each show ended with a song by Andy, in the form of an excerpt from old Musikparadies broadcasts.
