The Ladins are a South Tyrolean music group . They won the Grand Prix of Folk Music in 2004. In 2003 they were nominated for an Amadeus Austrian Music Award as “Best Newcomer of the Year”, and in 2005 they were nominated twice in the “Hit Album of the Year” category.

The name Ladiner is derived from the Ladin mother tongue of the musicians. Ladin is a Rhaeto-Romanic language in the South Tyrolean Dolomites . The performers come from Val Gardena . Mainly Ladin is spoken here, but German and Italian are also spoken.
